Top Ten Books Collecting Dust on My Bookshelf

TopTenTuesday

Top Ten Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. As lovers of books and of lists, they post a list each week. Check it out for other lists, and to link up your own list there.

This week’s topic is:

Top Ten Books Going Unread on My Bookshelf

LastOlympian 10, 9, and 8 go to the end of the Lightening Thief series.  I love mythology, I enjoyed the first book, I’ve heard wonderful things.  I’ve just gotten out of the habit of reading my middle grade books and only pick up the YA.  I need to repent, and finish these ones!

DarkisRising 7. The Dark is Rising series.  Saw the movie, got the series, read book one, got distracted…

SoSilverBright6. So Silver Bright by Lisa Mantchev.  Third book in the Theatre Illuminata series.

Supernaturally 5. Supernaturally by Kiersten White.  I’m getting burnt out on series right now.  I love the first book, but by the time the second, third, fourth one comes out, I’m wondering why I cared.

I don’t have too many unread books on my shelf, but other books I’ve wanted to read and haven’t yet would include:

4. Delirium by Lauren Oliver.  I’ve heard so many good things!

CrimsonThread 3. The Crimson Thread by Suzanne Weyn.  I’ve read all of the other Once Upon A Time books (retold fairytales).

2. A World Above by Cameron Dokey. Ditto to number 3. Jack in the Beanstalk, but Jack is a girl.

Little Women 1. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.  It’s a classic.  Plus, it’s universally acknowledged that the book is always better than the movie.  So, why haven’t I read this yet?

What books did you have to have, yet haven’t read yet?

  3. Supernaturally isn't out in the UK till next year so I don't have that yet. Like you I'm way behind on the Percy Jackson series. I loved the first one though so I need to catch up.

My top ten is here if you'd like a look :)

  4. Delerium is really good - another vote here for getting to that. I have started quite a few series this year that I would love to get to soon also.

  7. What a great list! I've read some of your TBR's and they're great (Delirium and Little Women). Some of your selections are also on my TBR list.
    P.S. I'm a 30 something girl still reading YA, so you're not alone :)

  8. I've read most of the Once Upon Series as well, excluding Violet Eyes. I really enjoyed The Crimson Thread because Weyn likes to mix history in with her fairytales, which makes them more original. I thought A World Above was somewhat uncreative.

  10. Why yes, definitely finish up Percy Jackson and then get started on The Heroes of Olympus. I love Rick Riordan's books, even though they're technically for the MG audience :)
