This week’s topic is:
Top Ten Books Perfect for Reading Around Halloween
10. After Obsession-Demonic possession and all kinds of creepiness.
9. Anna Dressed in Blood-A girl killed on her way to a school dance, now perpetually dressed in blood, and killing anyone who enters her old home. This is what ghost stories are made of!
8. Dearly Departed-I just got this in the mail today and can’t wait to read it. Zombies! Need I say more?
7. The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting-Teenage girl can find find bodies by listening, feeling, or smelling their “echoes”. Good mystery, good romance too.
6. The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson-A modern day story in London with a killer copying the Jack the Ripper murders.
5. Piggie Pie by Margie Palatini-If you have kids, are a teacher, or have a love of picture books, this is a must read! Gritch the Witch is hungry and wants to make piggie pie, but she’s all out of piggies. Follow her to Old MacDonald’s Farm where the real fun begins.
4. Jinx by Meg Cabot-A modern day teenage witch
3. Anything by Mary Higgins Clark, she’s my favorite mystery writer. Lots of suspense, no trashiness.
2. Enchanted Inc.-A chick-lit read. Girl moves to NYC, starts seeing strange things but shrugs it off as just being New York. Really, she’s seeing past the glamours of fairies and wizards, and she’s offered a job working for them.
1. Die for Me-It involves dying over and over and over again. If you haven’t read it, read it! Not really scary, but the best paranormal read I’ve read this year.
Oh my gosh so many great picks! Where to begin. The children book looks really interesting, I could read it to my little sister. As for all the others, I about to start Dearly Departed and Die for Me. The other's look hauntingly good.
ReplyDeleteGreat picks for Halloween! Thanks for commenting on ours.

Great list.
ReplyDeleteI have Die for me and Dearly, Departed on mine as well.
I have to get my hands on After Obsession, the cover is just gorgeous.
My TTT list for Halloween
Totally agree that Anna Dressed in Blood is a great book to read for Halloween as is The Name of the Star. I really have to get Dearly Departed as I just love the summary of that one. Great list!
ReplyDeleteI've been having a hard time lately finding YA choices and this is a great list!! The covers alone are enough to check them out. My favorite on this list is The Name of the Star...I'm adding that one to my WishList :)
ReplyDeleteDearly, Departed looks so good. LOVE that cover. And I really want to read Anna Dressed in Blood.... but I'm kinda scared :P
ReplyDeleteI just got The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson. Though I knew it was about Jack The Ripper I didn't think of it as being creepy. Oh Boy!
