Why October is such a good month…

Personally, I love it for Halloween: the dressing up and the candy.  This year though, I’m loving it for the books!

For starters, these books come out at the end of September here, but I won’t get them in the mail this month, so I’m fudging them over…

slayers

Slayers by C.J. Hill

Mara Dyer

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

Amnesia, falling in love, and a really cool cover

Daughter of smoke and bone

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

Devils who use human teeth for who knows what, a blue haired art student, and a guy with “fire colored eyes”.  And the blue hair grows that way naturally.  I think we’re about to meet a new kind of heroine.

Lola

Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins

Who hasn’t read Anna and the French Kiss?  Even if you haven’t, this isn’t a series, you can read Lola first!  Good news, huh?

Now for the real October releases:

Pledge

The Pledge by Kimberly Derting

Dystopian fiction by the author of the Body Finder.  I’m game.

Out October 15th

Scorpio Races

Dearly Departed

Dearly Departed by Lia Habel

It’s a story about falling in love with a zombie.

Normally, they’re all “unghhh” and “brains…”, I’m anxiously anticipating how this will be done.

Comes out October 18th

Between Sea and Sky

Between Sea and Sky by Jaclyn Dolamore (Magic Under Glass)

A mermaid who wants to be a Siren, searching for her sister on land, reconnecting with an old friend, a winged man.

Alright, anything you’re looking forward to in October?  Any other months I should be anxiously waiting for?
